Dunkirk to hold 9/11 ceremony Monday

The City of Dunkirk Fire Department and The Dunkirk Professional Firefighters Local 616 are holding its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Fire Headquarters, 311 Eagle St. Dunkirk.

The ceremony is open to the public.

Bridge closing brings detour

DAYTON — The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be closing County Road 57 (Cottage-Markhams Road), 400 feet northwest of Hall Road, in the town of Dayton on Monday for the replacement of Dayton bridge 11 for one week. A detour will be posted.

9/11 Remembrance Bike and Car Run Sunday

Citizens Assisting Veterans 9/11 Remembrance Bike and Car Run will take place Sunday at the Brocton American Legion Post 434, 110 W. Main St.

Registration is at 10:30 a.m., with kickstands up at noon sharp. A bus will be available for anyone wishing not to drive.

The costs are $15 per person for the bus, or $15 per person for bikes. The ticket price includes food upon return to the Legion. Other attractions include 50/50 raffles and a ticket auction. For presale tickets, call Phil at 785-2774 or Greg at 680-3277.
