Randolph man charged in assault on underage victim
RANDOLPH — A 39-year-old man is facing third-degree assault and a charge of endangering the welfare of a child after an incident on Friday.
New York State Police at Jamestown report David Chapman, 39, of Randolph, was charged after the incident when a third party reported two subjects were involved in a physical altercation. An investigation revealed that Chapman had kicked the underage victim in the head, causing injury.
Chapman will answer the charges in Randolph Town Court later and he was released without bail.
GERRY — Michael Braxton, 31, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs on March 9. Troopers responded to an erratic driver report on Route 60 and found the vehicle as it entered Country Fair. Braxton, allegedly, displayed signs of being impaired and was arrested after failing multiple field soberity tests. Braxton was transported to Jamestown where he was evaluated by a State Police Drug Recognition expert. Braxton was processed and issued tickets to return to Gerry Town Court.
