¯ A 17-year-old male from Westfield was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief on Tuesday.

At about 1 a.m., Westfield Police responded to 146 S. Gale St. in the village of Westfield for a report of a disorderly person. Upon arrival, patrols located and interviewed the suspect, who was the 17-year-old male. Police conducted an investigation by speaking with the victim and determined that the suspect had damaged two separate items on the premises.

The male was taken into custody, charged, arraigned in Westfield Village Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

¯ Matthew R. Jaynes, 36, of Westfield was charged with five counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, endangering the welfare of a child, and violating the Westfield Local Law Noise Ordinance on Friday.

At about 10:30 p.m., Westfield Police received a complaint of a possible underage party hosted by Jaynes at his residence at 238 E. Main St., Apt. 4 in Westfield. Police responded and allegedly heard loud music coming from his apartment, and continued to investigate.

Police allegedly observed one 15-year-old female with alcohol on the balcony of Jaynes’ apartment with Jaynes present. Upon further investigation, police located multiple subjects under the age of 21 had allegedly been consuming alcohol.

Police had all the minors removed form the premises during the incident. Jaynes also allegedly allowed this party to occur in the presence of a child less than two years old. Jaynes was charged and is to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date and time to answer to the charges.
