Area police: May 16
¯ Savonni L. Mohawk, 19, of Kent Road in Salamanca, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on May 4 at 5:30 p.m. Patrol stopped Mohawk on Buffalo Street for an unspecified traffic infraction. During the DMV computer check, it was allegedly revealed that Mohawk’s license was revoked on Jan. 26 for a driving while intoxicated conviction and her license was suspended on March 24 for failure to pay driver’s responsibility. She was arrested then released to appear in Collins Town Court at a later date.
¯ Jeffrey A. Schosek, 34, of Route 438 in Gowanda, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and other charges on May 6 at 11:30 p.m. Patrol responded to a disturbance on East Main Street. Patrol was informed that Schosek was involved in a verbal altercation with a female acquaintance that escalated to physical. Schosek allegedly grabbed the female around the throat and threw her around the residence. When the victim attempted to contact the police, Schosek supposedly took the phone away and refused to return it. During the confrontation, the stove was broken and minor injuries were inflicted on the victim in the facial area. The other charges, not listed above, include fourth-degree criminal mischief to equipment to prevent contacting the police, criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree criminal mischief. Schosek was arraigned in Collins Town Court and remanded to Erie County Holding Center with bail set at $1,000.
¯ Carl J. Mascio, 22, of Burns Road in Angola, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and registration display violation on Wednesday at 6:52 p.m. Patrol stopped Mascio for a missing front license plate. The DMV computer check revealed that Mascio’s license was suspended on April 29 for his failure to appear for a traffic citation in Brant Town Court. Mascio was arrested then released to appear in Persia Town Court at a later date.
¯ Shawn M. Michener, 28, of Erie Street in Little Valley, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, illegal window tint and operating a vehicle without insurance on Thursday at 12:22 a.m. Patrol stopped Michener due to the window tint. During the DMV computer check, Michener’s license was suspended on March 10 for his failure to pay child support and the vehicle had no mandated vehicle insurance. Michener was arrested then released to appear in Persia Town Court at a later date.
¯ David F. John Jr., 30, of Bagdad Road in Gowanda, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment and child endangerment on Thursday at 1:30 a.m. Patrol responded to a report of a disturbance on West Main Street. John, with Catherine John and Dalton Jimerson, allegedly entered the residence without permission and refused the resident’s demands to do so. David John allegedly attempted to punch the female resident in the face as well as the resident’s 15-year-old son. John then punched the TV causing damage. All suspects fled at the arrival of the patrol. Patrol located and arrested John. He was arraigned in Persia Town Court and released after posting bail at $2,000.
¯ Catherine John, 43, of 17th Street in Niagara Falls, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass for the incident with David F. John Jr. on Thursday at 1:30 a.m. Patrol located John and arrested her. She was released to appear in Persia Town Court at a later date. Erie County Sheriff’s Department assisted with this incident.
¯ Dalton A. Jimerson, 25, of 17th Street in Niagara Falls, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass for the incident with David F. John Jr. on Thursday at 1:30 a.m. Patrol located Jimerson and arrested him. He was released to appear in Persia Town Court at a later date. Erie County Sheriff’s Department assisted with this incident.
