Two facing drug charges after traffic stop in Mayville

MAYVILLE — Two village residents are facing drug charges after their vehicle was pulled over.

At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, deputies pulled over a vehicle in the village after observing a improper plate. After speaking with the operator, Edwin E Hannold Jr., 41, he was found to be in possession of suboxone, which he did not have a prescription.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies discovered a quantity a methamphetamine. Hannold was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and numerous vehicle and traffic infractions.

The vehicle’s passenger, Nikki L Heinert, 29, was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Chautauqua Court and remanded to the County Jail in lieu of bail.
