¯ Philip J. Cunningham, 27, of Fredonia was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and operating in violation of restrictions on July 8.

At about 10 p.m., Westfield Police checked a vehicle at a closed business on Route 20 in the town of Westfield. The operator of the vehicle was found to be Cunningham. Upon an investigation, police allegedly located a small amount of marijuana in a bag in the vehicle that belonged to Cunningham. A DMV check revealed that Cunningham was operating on a conditional driver’s license. Cunningham was allegedly in violation of his conditions. Cunningham was charged and released with appearance tickets to show up in Westfield Town Court at a later date and time to answer to the charges.

¯ SILVER CREEK –Anthony Morales, 23, of Silver Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speed in zone, moving from lane unsafely and refusal of a pre-screen breath test on Sunday.

At about 11:55 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle to be speeding as well as driving on the shoulder of Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator to be Morales. After an investigation, Deputies charged Morales, who will answer his charges in Hanover Town Court.

¯ LAKEWOOD — Michael B. Turner, 23, of Lakewood was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to keep right, and moving from lane unsafely on Sunday.

At about 2 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle committing lane violations on Route 430 in the Town of Ellery. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified Turner as the operator. After an investigation, Deputies charged Turner, who will answer his charges in Ellery Town Court.

¯ CASSADAGA –Shawn A. Cavender, 47, of Cassadaga was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI per se, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and failure to use designated lane on Monday.

At about 5 p.m., Deputies received report of a vehicle operating erratically in the area of Hall Road in the Town of Charlotte. Deputies located the vehicle and identified the operator as Cavender. Upon further investigation, deputies reportedly found Cavender to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Cavender was charged, arraigned in Stockton Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

¯ SHERMAN — Marvin B. Byler, 25, of Clymer was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, DWI, speeding and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle after being stopped Sunday on Route 76 in Sherman. Deputies allegedly observed Byler traveling at a high rate of speed around 7:20 p.m. He was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was issued tickets for Sherman Town Court.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Brianna K. Caskey, 25, of Sinclairville, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, failure to signal after a traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. on July 2 on Mill Street in the town of Chautauqua. Deputies allegedly observed a traffic violation and upon further investigation reportedly found Caskey in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana. She was issued tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

¯ Jose Caraballo, 31, of Fredonia, was charged July 12 with petit larceny after an incident on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk around 12:30 a.m. He was issued a ticket for Dunkirk Town Court.

¯ STOCKTON — Joshua Burke, 29, of Stockton, was charged Monday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without insurance and unsafe tire after a two-car accident on Cassadaga-Stockton Road in Stockton around 8 p.m. Deputies responded and found Burke was traveling southbound when he allegedly struck the rear of another southbound vehicle driven by Andrew Hall, 40, of Sherman. Burke was transported to Westfield Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and issued tickets for Stockton Town Court.

≤ HANOVER — Justin T. Petit, 45, of Depew, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign and DWI per se.

At approximately 12:48 a.m., deputies stopped Petit on Iola Dr. for failing to stop at a stop sign. Petit was alleged to have been intoxicated and was taken into custody, charged with the three offenses and released.

Petit will appear in Hanover Town Court at a date to be determined.
