Mayville woman allegedly attempted burglary

ASHVILLE — A 47-year-old Mayville woman was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail after police say she attempted to leave a property with a vehicle full of possessions she was not given permission to take.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dawn M. Duvall of Panama-Stedman Road was charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Tuesday. The alleged burglary took place around 11:30 a.m. at 5096 Waltonian Drive in Ashville.

Duvall was allegedly found by the victim while she was trying to leave. She was reportedly detained by the victim until deputies arrived.

Duvall was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and will be in court at a later date. She is being held at the county jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
