¯ HANOVER — Injuries resulted from a motor vehicle accident Friday at about 8 p.m. at the intersection of Bennett State Road and Stebbins Road.
Deputies found that Margarita Sanchez, 40, of Dunkirk, did not stop at a stop sign and her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Jennifer Hilliker.
Both Hilliker and Sanchez sustained apparent non life threatening injuries. Hilliker was transported to Lake Shore Hospital and Sanchez was flown via Starflight to ECMC.
Sanchez was issued a traffic ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.
¯ NORTH HARMONY – Lars D. Nelbach, 21, of Boonville, was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, speed in 55 mph zone and no/inadequate muffler.
At about 12:30 a.m. deputies stopped Nelbach for speeding. The deputies found Nelbach to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody a nd after processing was released with the traffic tickets.
Nalbach will appear in North Harmony Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
¯ ELLERY — Heath E. Zawatski, 30, of Randolph was charged Saturday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, failure to comply, moving from lane unsafely and failure to keep right.
At around 9:30 p.m. deputies received several complaints of a vehicle operating erratically in the Dutch Hollow Road area. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle, driven by Zawatski, and attempted to stop it. Zawatski failed to comply with deputies and attempted to evade them. While being pursued Zawatski failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway and crashed into a ditch and over turned, pinning him. EMS and Fire personnel from Fluvanna FD, Bemus Pt FD, and All Star were able to extricate Zawatski. He was flown to Hamot hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
Zawatski will appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date.
