Cocaine, loaded gun found in Jamestown traffic stop
JAMESTOWN — Police said a loaded pistol and cocaine were discovered following a traffic stop Wednesday evening.
Officers with the Jamestown Police Department stopped a vehicle around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Prendergast Avenue after observing the driver fail to signal a turn and fail to stop at a stop sign.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Hector L. Cameron-Walker, was allegedly found in possession of 3.3 grams of cocaine and a loaded 9mm pistol. He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and obstructing governmental administration.
Cameron-Walker was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to signal a turn. He was transported Wednesday to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation, city police said in a statement.
