Horse abuse charges to Sherman man

A Sherman man is charged with overdriving/torture/injuring an animal after a loose horse was found with alleged neglect. Sheriff’s deputies found the horse had approximately 10- to 12-inch hooves.

The owner, 35-year-old Allan C. Detweiler, was charged for the Oct. 18, 2017 incident and was also given a failure to provide sustenance. Detweiler will appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Frankie L. Fosco, 27, of Cascade Street, Erie, Pennsylvannia, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and more on Saturday on 10:20 p.m. Deputies stopped a vehilce for speeding on Olde Road. The driver, Fosco, was allegedly intoxicated. Deputies say they found a small quantity of marijuana and an open container of alcohol. Fosco was charged with speed over 55 miles per hour, unlawful possession of marijuana and the charges above. Fosco will appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Jacob M. Rulander, 28, of Youngsville, Pennsylvannia, was charged with trespassing on Sunday at 12:15 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Peek’n Peak Hotel on Old Road for a report of trespassing. Deputies say they found Rulander trespassing on the Peek’n Peak property. Rulander was issued a ticket and will appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

¯ POLAND — Chelsea M. Gifford, 26, of Kennedy, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and other charges on Sunday at 1:47 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 394 for multiple traffic violations. The driver, Gifford, was allegedly found to be intoxicated. Gifford’s charges, including the previously stated charges, are failure to keep right and moved from lane unsafely. Gifford will answer her charges at Poland Town Court at a later date.
