Mistaken identity? Dunkirk man faces more charges
SILVER CREEK — A Dunkirk man is facing additional charges stemming from a traffic infraction on Oct. 7.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies reported Tuesday morning they received new information on the incident at Central and Parkway avenues in Silver Creek. It was found that Trevon D. Tripp, 20, allegedly gave deputies a false name while he was being arrested for crimes that he committed. Tripp is now charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator.
His original charges on the date of the incident were first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and speed in zone. He will answer his charges in Sheridan Town Court and Silver Creek Village Court on a later date.
Salamanca man pleads guilty in fatal vehicle accident
SALAMANCA — A 21-year-old Salamanca resident has been charged in a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday in the town.
Damion R. Taylor of 8037 Jimerson Road was charged with second-degree manslaughter Monday, Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies reported. He was arraigned in Salamanca Town Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
Deputies said the accident remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
