≤ CHAUTAUQUA — Deputies charged a man who had overturned his snowmobile Monday at around 3 a.m. with snowmobiling while intoxicated.

Douglas W. Emery, 33, of Ashland, OH, was taken into custody for processing and refused a breath test. He was held at Chautauqua County Jail on pre-arraignment bail. Emery will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date to answer his charge.

≤ SILVER CREEK — Nathan C. Kaczor, 18, of Irving, was charged Sunday with second-degree menacing for allegedly threatening the life of another individual while brandishing a pocket knife.

Kaczor had fled the scene of the incident but was located a short time later and was taken into custody. He will answer his charges in Silver Creek Village Court on a later date.

≤ MAYVILLE — Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash Sunday at around 5:30 p.m. on S. Erie Street, allegedly caused by an intoxicated driver.

Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that a vehicle being driven by Charles Carlson, 56, of Maple Springs, failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle being driven by Rebecca Eltringham.

Carlson struck Eltringham head on, causing Eltringham to suffer minor injuries. Eltringham was transported via ambulance to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed that Carlson was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Carlson was placed under arrest and transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office with the following charges: driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failed to yield the right of way and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was later released and will appear in the Chautauqua Town Court on a later date.
