Man asleep in drive thru gets charged with DWI

Fast food to fast asleep. A 30-year-old Fredonia resident was charged with driving while intoxicated after falling asleep in the McDonald’s drive thru in Fredonia, police say.

William R. Tryczenski, 30, was found asleep, sheriff’s deputies say, in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle Sunday at 3:02 a.m. After an investigation, police determined that Tryczenski was allegedly in an intoxicated state. He was charged with DWI and DWI per se.

Tryczenski will answer his charges in Fredonia Village Court at a later date.

¯ KIANTONE — An accident with three tractor trailers and a vehicle sent one to the hospital with charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while abilities impaired on Saturday.

At around 3:23 a.m., sheriff’s deputies reported to a collision on Route 62. The vehicle, controlled by 28-year-old Craig M. Vanhook of Jamestown, allegedly lost control and went head on into opposing traffic. A tractor trailer driven by Christopher Powers, 35, of Frewsburg, impacted Vanhook’s vehicle.

Two tractor trailers behind Powers collided in the pile up as well. Both Mark Machnica, 56, of West Seneca and Russell Gugino, 51, of Cassadaga were in the accident.

Vanhook was transported to UPMC Chautauqua WCA in Jamestown and charged with DWI and DWAI. Vanhook will appear in Kiantone Town Court to answer his charges at a later date.

¯ RIPLEY — Thomas C. Duncan, 35, of South State Street, Ripley, was charged with driving while intoxicated and multiple other related charges on Saturday.

At around 11:52 p.m., sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle off the roadway on a snow bank on Route 20. An investigation determined that the operator, Duncan, was driving while intoxicated, police say.

Duncan was charged with DWI, DWI per se, moving from lane unsafely and driving across hazard markings. Duncan will answer his charges in Ripley Town Court at a later date.

¯ WESTFIELD — William J. Lisek, 22, of Ripley, was charged with driving while intoxicated and other related charges on Saturday.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 76. It is alleged that Lisek was intoxicated and he was transported to a local hospital by the Sherman Fire Department.

Lisek was charged with DWI , failure to keep right, speed unreasonable and prudent and aggravated unlicensed operation. He will answer the charges in Westfield Town Court at a later date.
