Gowanda woman in jail after choking a sleeping male
GOWANDA — There’s untimely wake up calls and then there is this.
Jennell C. Odell, 30, of Buffalo Street, allegedly attacked a male acquaintance while he was sleeping by choking him in his bed Wednesday, Gowanda Police report.
At 12:16 a.m., patrol responded to a disturbance at a Buffalo Street address. Patrol observed that the male victim’s neck had “lacerations, redness and swelling,” the report read. Upon arresting Odell, she struggled and attempted to fight with patrol, police say.
Odell was charged with third-degree assault and obstruction of breathing and resisting arrest.
Odell was arraigned in Collins Town Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $1,000 bail.
¯ Ayden M. Jimerson, 19, of Burning Springs Road, Perrysburg, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and other charges on Jan. 23 after being pulled over for an alleged expired inspection.
Patrol investigated Jimerson after pulling him over on Buffalo Street at 3:33 p.m. A DMV computer check revealed that Jimerson only had his permit and no license and that his permit was suspended on Jan. 13, 2018 for his failure to appear in traffic court in Brant, police say. Also during the stop, patrol allegedly found suspected concentrated hashish in an electronic vaporized cigarette.
Jimerson was additionally charged with expired inspection and permit without a licensed operator. He will appear in Collins Town Court at a later date.
¯ Ashley R. McDonald, 39, of West Main Street, was charged with exhaust system violation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Tuesday after being pulled over by patrol for the exhaust violation.
Patrol stopped McDonald on West Main Street at 5:22 p.m. Patrol found during the DMV computer check that McDonald’s license was suspended on Sept. 19, 2017 for an insurance lapse on her registered vehicle, police say, and the vehicle was currently insured.
McDonald was released to appear in Persia Town Court at a later date.
