≤ Michael Winkler, 28, of Sherman Avenue, North Collins, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, inadequate license plate lights, unlawful possession of marijuana and obstructing governmental administration on Thursday.
At 12:30 a.m., Winkler’s vehicle was stopped on Aldrich Street for an inadequate license plate light. During the stop, patrol allegedly found that Winkler was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and marijuana concentrate.
After Winkler was arrested and placed in the patrol car, patrol supposedly observed him attempting to hide suspected cocaine between the rear seats of the patrol car.
Winkler was arrested and released to appear in Collins Town Court at a later date.
¯ Shannon M. Butcher, 35, of Hickory Street, Silver Creek, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle with obstructed vision on Thursday.
At 4:55 p.m., patrol stopped Butcher’s vehicle due to an allegedly obstructed vision on Chestnut Street. During the stop, Butcher was discovered to supposedly be in possession of a small amount of cocaine. Also during the stop, a DMV computer check revealed that Butcher’s license was suspended on July 4, 2017 for insurance no in effect and again on May 5, 2017 for her failure to appear for a traffic citation in Collins Town Court. Patrol was further advised of an active warrant for Butcher’s arrest from the Brant Town Court.
Butcher was arrested and released to Brant Town Police and will appear in Persia Town Court at a later date.
¯ A 22-year-old male was given a dose of NARCAN from a Gowanda police officer and became conscious and responsive on Feb. 15.
At 11:22 p.m., patrol responded to a report of an unconscious, unresponsive 22-year-old male victim of a heroin overdose. After one dose of NARCAN, he was conscious. The subject was treated and transported to the hospital (unnamed) by the Gowanda Ambulance Service.
