Motorcyclist injured after hitting deer Saturday

¯ On Saturday at approximately 9:15 p.m. deputies responded to Route 60 in Pomfret for a report of a motor cycle accident with personal injuries.

Upon an investigation it was determined that a 46-year-old male was traveling north on Rt. 60 when he struck a deer in the road causing him to crash into the motorcycle. The driver was taken to ECMC for his injuries and the female passenger taken to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time there are no charges stemming from the accident.

Deputies were assisted by New York State Police, Fredonia Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance Service.

¯ STOCKTON — On Saturday at about 1:25 a.m. sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town for an expired registration. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Lonnie B. Wicher Jr., 37, Jamestown and possessed a revoked non-driver ID. Further investigation of the ID turned up 30 scoffs on 16 dates with a total of 35 suspensions. Wicher was charged with unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, violation of interlock restrictions and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. He was arraigned in Stockton Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
