Gowanda Police Department
¯ On July 29 at around midnight, a 17 year old Hamburg resident was stopped by patrol for an inadequate license plate light. Patrol observed there were four passengers in the vehicle which is in violation of a junior operator license, as is the time frame which has a curfew of 9 p.m. Further investigation found the juvenile was in possession of 17.3 mg of suspected LSD pills and a bag containing 800 mg of suspected cocaine. The juvenile was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, inadequate license plate light and junior operator’s driver’s restriction. They were released and are to appear in the Persia Town Court on a later date.
¯ On July 29 at approximately 5:40 p.m. patrol responded to a report of an alleged assault outside a Buffalo Street business. Samantha M. Soloman, 27, of Cheektowaga approached an aquaintance that was exiting the business and allegedly punched him in the facial area, causing minor injury. She was charged with third-degree assault and released. She is due to appear in the Collins Town Court at a later date.
¯ On Aug. 3 at around 12:30 p.m. patrol responded to a reported disturbance on Chestnut Street. Christina M. Neyman, 33, of Gowanda was purportedly involved in a verbal altercation with a 15 year old male visitor at the residence. The altercation became more heated and Neyman allegedly struck the juvenile multiple times in the head, neck and shoulders causing minor injuries. Numerous minor age children were present and witnessed the incident. Neyman was charged with third-degree assault and child endangerment. She was released and is due to appear in the Persia Town Court at a later date.
¯ On Aug. 3 at about 6:35 p.m. police arrested William J. Gearman, 18, of Gowanda when he failed to appear in court to answer to charges for harassment and child endangerment for a July 24 arrest. He was released and is due to appear in the Collins Town Court at a later date.
