Kennedy — On Dec. 5, state troopers pulled over a car on Route 62 in Kennedy for a traffic violation. Troopers identified the driver as Mark Maio, 34, of Jamestown. While speaking to Maio, troopers could smell marijuana inside the vehicle. A search was conducted, allegedly revealing a bag containing eight grams of marijuana. Maio’s driving record also revealed that his non-driver ID had been suspended six times. Maio was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket, traffic tickets, and is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court at a later date.
¯ RANDOLPH — On Nov. 30 Troopers pulled a vehicle over on I-86 in Randolph for suspected speeding. The driver was identified as Stephen Meyers, 24, of Cassadaga. While talking with Meyers, police allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A search reportedly revealed a smoking device containing marijuana residue. Meyers was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding. He was released and is due to appear in Randolph Town Court on a later date.
