Lake Shore Savings increases support for performing arts at SUNY Fredonia

Lake Shore Savings Bank has long been a supporter of the performing arts at SUNY Fredonia. This year, the Dunkirk-based financial institution takes that support to a new level with a $12,000 commitment as the season-wide sponsor for the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center.

This marks the seventh consecutive season Lake Shore Savings has served as the top sponsor for Rockefeller Arts Center.

“Lake Shore Savings appreciates our affiliation with SUNY Fredonia and Rockefeller Arts Center,” Daniel P. Reininga, president and chief executive officer of Lake Shore Savings, said. “It’s a wonderful partnership.”

Chartered in 1891, Lake Shore Savings has 11 branches through Chautau-qua and Erie counties. Its corporate headquarters are located at 131 East Fourth St. in Dunkirk.

Rockefeller Arts Center Director Jefferson Westwood said Lake Shore Savings has once again raised the bar for corporate sponsorship with this increased commitment to the arts.

“Lake Shore Savings continues to set the pace as a leading corporate citizen in our region,” Westwood said. “They were our first-ever corporate sponsor and we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship ever since.”

Westwood noted that sponsoring arts programs is not the only way in which Lake Shore Savings has supported SUNY Fredonia. In 2001, the bank funded the purchase of the University Clock Tower and in 2009 helped the campus acquire the John Clement sculpture “Popeye,” which is now on permanent display on Symphony Circle.
