Master Gardener spring sale set for May 13

JAMESTOWN — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Master Gardeners will hold their annual fundraising sale Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Frank W. Bratt Agricultural Center, located at 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown, near the airport.

Area residents eager to spring into gardening will find inspiration and bargains at the upcoming Master Gardeners’ sale of plants, yard art and gently used gardening tools, clothing and books.

Two special features this year are a free composting demonstration to be presented 10:30 – 11 a.m. and free soil pH testing offered all day. Just drop off your soil sample in a small plastic baggie. It will be tested while you wait or shop.

Each year, MG volunteers donate a wide variety of plants for sale. They include perennial flowers, grasses, shrub divisions, annual flowers, vegetables grown from seed and a few young trees. Most plant and garden art items are priced from $1-$5, with payment by cash or personal check only.
