Wineries draw crowd at Chamber’s Grape Expectations

The Clarion Hotel and Conference Center played host to the annual Dunkirk and Fredonia Chamber of Commerce “Grape Expectations” fund raising event on Friday.

The event is the primary fundraising event to benefit local high school students planning on attending college and successfully completing programs to attain degrees in selected fields of study. The Chamber of Commerce offers scholarship funding at several area high schools.

The event which had close to two hundred guests in attendance was an evening of fun, food, music and laughter. Music was provided by Marshall Seddon, several wineries including Merritt Winery, Mazza Winery, Liberty Vineyards and 21 Brix Winery were in attendance and providing wine samplings for the guests. Also in attendance, Pedals by Patty, and Patrice Rolling’s Products provided merchandise.

Numerous businesses provided gift baskets and prizes for raffles, with over forty prizes awarded. Great food and appetizers were served up by a dedicated staff of Clarion members, and many Chamber of Commerce members and staff were on hand to help complete the evening entertainment.

The Dunkirk and Fredonia Chamber of Commerce organizations join up annually to sponsor the event and are planning on another event, to be held in the village sometime in September, with the theme being a “Taste of Chadwick Bay.”
