Ripley and Chautauqua Lake to hold joint meeting

A joint meeting between the Ripley Central School and Chautauqua Lake Central School boards of education will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Ripley Central School District’s research library.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Ripley Central School will begin immediately following the joint meeting.

Democratic meeting set for Tuesday

The monthly meeting of the Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Association will meet on Tuesday at the Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia at 6:30 p.m.

The association meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Barker Library. All are encouraged to attend.

pickup ends Friday

Friday will be the final leaf pickup by village of Gowanda crews.

Please make sure leaves are at curbside before that time.

Local 2693 to hold Christmas party

Local 2693 will hold a members-only Christmas party today at 7 p.m. at the East Town Fire Hall, 10949 S. Roberts Road, Dunkirk.

Soil & Water District meeting Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Soil & Water Conservation District Directors’ regular meeting will be held Tuesday at noon at the Northcrest Business Park, 220 Fluvanna Ave., Suite 600, Jamestown.

LEICC to meet on Thursday

The Chautauqua County Department of Health announces that the next meeting of the Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council (LEICC) has been scheduled for Thursday at noon at Jefferson Hall, 25 Maple St., Cassadaga (the old Cassadaga Baptist Church).

The LEICC is made up of professionals and parents that are involved in the Early Intervention Program in Chautauqua County. The Early Intervention Program is a statewide program to help families meet the needs of infants and toddlers up to the age of three with developmental disabilities. Services provided by the Early Intervention Program may include; occupational therapy, physical therapy, special instruction, speech therapy and vision services.

Stockton Christmas lighting contest under way

This month, the town of Stockton Planning Board is holding a townwide community Christmas lighting contest, including the village of Cassadaga.

No entry fee is required.  Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga libraries and the town clerk’s office.

Return applications by 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 to the Stockton Town Hall or the Stockton or  Cassadaga library building or book drop-off.

Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 22.
