Lakeshore Center

for the Arts to appear on Chautauqua Sunrise

Chautauqua Sunrise will feature the cast of “It’s a Wonderful Life” as the guests on Saturday. The group is with the Lakeshore Center for the Arts.

Host Doc Hamels will conduct the program. The  program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and is rebroadcast daily until Friday at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. The guest is subject to change.

Chautauqua Sunrise is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering Brocton, Cassadaga, Chau-tauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. Channel numbers shown are for subscribers using a cable converter. Digital channels for televisions without a converter will vary by community. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Perrysburg Town Hall E-ZPass retail location

Perrysburg Town Hall is an E-ZPass retail location. An E-ZPass tag can be purchased for $25 at the Perrysburg Town Hall, 10460 Peck Hill Road. With an E-ZPass tag, you receive a 5-percent savings on Thruway tolls and E-ZPass discounts on other roadways. For more information, or to purchase a tag, contact Perrysburg Town Clerk Tamara A. Utley during regular business hours at 532-4090. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check or credit card (with small convenience fee). The Perrysburg Town Hall will also be closed on Saturday and Monday.

PVCS board to meet

The Pine Valley Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. High School Library.

Gas prices continue to rise across country

The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is now $2.24 per gallon, up three cents from last week. The New York state average is $2.43 per gallon, up two cents from last week. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.27.

AAA Western and Central New York reports the following averages:

≤ Buffalo — $2.38, up 2 cents

≤ Rochester — $2.37, up  1 cent

≤ Syracuse — $2.34 up 3 cents

One year ago, holiday travelers were enjoying national average gas prices of $2 per gallon. This year, travelers are paying about 25 cents more per gallon nationally.
