Bill Kuwik to appear

on Fresh Perspectives

Gail Erb, host of Fresh Perspectives, will have guest Bill Kuwik on the program. Kuwik will discuss anti-cancer diet and lifestyle. The show will air Saturday through Dec. 30 at 3 and 9 p.m. each day.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter.

Pomfret historian

to hold book signing

Pomfret Town Historian Todd Langworthy will hold a book-signing event at the Bowler’s Corner Pro Shop at Lucky Lanes on Route 60 in Fredonia.

The days will be today from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

One dollar from each book sold will be donated to the Fredonia Village Trolley Fund. The Bowler’s Corner Pro Shop will also donate $2 from all bowling ball sales on these nights to the trolley fund, as well.

Langworthy will have all of his local history books on sale for the event, which can be personalized by the author for holiday gift giving.

Silver Creek holiday office hours

The village of Silver Creek offices will only be open for half a day on Friday and Dec. 30. Offices will be closed all day Thursday and Monday. This includes the clerk’s office, as well as the Department of Public Works and the Water/Sewer Dept. offices. The Village Court will be closed Monday and Jan. 2.

Dunkirk City Hall closed Friday, Monday

Dunkirk City Hall will be closed on Friday and Monday in observance of the Christmas holiday. The recycling center will be closed Saturday. There will be no change in the rubbish pickup schedule.

Village of Silver Creek leaf pickup over

The Village of Silver Creek will no longer be picking up leaves or brush due to winter weather. Leaf and brush pickup will resume in April.

Silver Creek Central Elementary School Sing-a-Long Friday

The Silver Creek Central Elementary School, 1 Dickinson St., will host its wildly popular “Elementary Sing-a-Long” on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the elementary gym for third grade through fifth grade and at 10 a.m. for pre-k through second grade. The performance is a tradition in the district and features a medley of festive favorites appropriate for the holiday season.
