Fredonia Village Board to discuss park grant today

The Fredonia Village Board will hold a special meeting today at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall to discuss updates on the Barker Common grant project. The board will meet in executive session to discuss matters leading to the possible appointment of a particular person at 5:30 p.m.

Cassadaga Job Corps announces information session

The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host a tour and informational session for interested applicants and their families on Thursday, March 30. The Academy offers no-cost career training in the health care, construction, and security industries as well as classes to prepare to take the TASC or obtain a high school diploma. In order to enroll applicants must be 16-24 years old, meet income guidelines, and demonstrate readiness to embark on a rigorous and demanding training program. Students from Chautauqua County may enroll as either residential or non-residential students. Job Corps will provide the courses described above, as well as a comprehensive career preparation curriculum to ensure graduates are ready to enter the labor market, and the services include job placement services upon completion. To reserve a spot on the tour or to inquire about admissions contact the Academy by calling 595-4200 and asking for the admissions office.

Hanover tax payments due Monday

HANOVER – Monday is the last day residents can pay 2017 county/town taxes to the Hanover Town Clerk.

Janine L. Salzman, Town Clerk, said taxes can be paid at the Hanover Town Hall, 68 Hanover St., until 5 p.m.

A penalty of 2 percent penalty has been added for the March 1 to April 3 collection period.

After April 3, all unpaid taxes will be forwarded to Chautauqua County.
