UPMC Chautauqua WCA Bariatric Team to hold seminar

The Bariatric Center team of UPMC Chautauqua WCA will host a free, informative, seminar today, March 4 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, March 16 at 6 p.m. to answer questions about weight loss surgery options at the hospital and introduce residents to bariatric surgeon, Dr. Galo Grijalva. The free seminar will be held in the UPMC Chautauqua WCA Auditorium, 207 Foote Avenue, Jamestown. Meeting for vets regarding free burials Monday

There is a meeting for all veterans on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Gowanda VFW regarding free burial benefits for veterans. The Gowanda VFW is located on Sand Hill Road in the village. Non-VFW members are welcome to attend.

Dementia basics presentation set for Monday

On Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mayville Library, 92 South Erie St., the New York State Department of Health is sponsoring a presentation on Dementia Basics.

Changes in loved ones can be hard to understand. It can be overwhelming. Also, each new day brings new challenges.

This presentation will give insight and help to understanding how to cope with challenging behaviors and how they affect daily routines. You are not alone. Please join in this important educational presentation.

NCCF seeks nominations for Footprints Award

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is accepting nominations for the George B. Weaver Jr. Footprints Award until March 24. Nominees should have a strong history of volunteerism, philanthropic endeavors (financial support not necessarily measured in number of dollars) and activities that have made an impact in the community. It is not a requirement that nominees have an affiliation with the NCCF.
