Dunkirk to announce summer events

Dunkirk Mayor Willie Rosas and Special Events Coordinator Hector Rosas will announce the summer events and festivals schedule today at 3 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall. The public is invited. To learn more, visit the City’s website.

Dunkirk to cut

city-owned trees

City of Dunkirk Public Works crews in conjunction with National Grid will be cutting city-owned trees this spring.

Any city or town resident who would like some of the wood free of charge, please call the Department of Public Works at 366-9832 for more information.

Brocton Fire Company plans comedy night

On Saturday, April 8 at the Brocton American Legion Post 434, 110 W. Main St., Brocton, the Brocton Fire Company will be hosting a night of comedy featuring “5 Outstanding Comedians.” The event begins at 8 p.m., however, for the best seats and to participate in a “ticket auction” as well as a 50/50, come early as doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $15. Call 583-3232. Tickets may be available at the door for $20. This is adult comedy and attendees must be 18+ years of age to enter.

Brush permit

Landscape Contractor Brush Permit stickers are now available for purchase in the Dunkirk City Clerk’s office at City Hall for the 2017 season. Prices are $300 for the first vehicle and $150 for each additional vehicle. Contractors should be aware that bringing out of city brush is not allowed.
