Cassadaga flushing hydrants Tuesday

The village of Cassadaga is aiming to flush hydrants Tuesday. The Department of Public Works would like residents to be aware that the water system will be riled up during flushing, which will begin at 8 a.m. until mid-afternoon.

Meat party Saturday

The Forestville Legion Auxiliary will host a Meat Party Saturday at Post 953 American Legion, Cedar Street, Forestville at 7 p.m. There will be giveaways of ham, sausage, steak and prime rib. Free refreshments.

Road closed in Hanover

Stebbins Road (County Route 60), in the town of Hanover between County Route 85 and State Route 20, will be closed to traffic due to Bridge 1000 rehabilitation effective Wednesday. A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until said detour signs are removed.

Normal parking hours resume in Silver Creek

The village of Silver Creek has resumed its normal parking hours. However, if a late snow storm should strike, residents are asked kindly to make way for the snowplow.

Memorial Day parade plans

Planning has begun by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council for the Dunkirk Memorial Day parade, which will take place at 11 a.m. after services at Memorial Park. Those interested in marching can send an email to jdagostino@observertoday.com.

Brocton Fire Company plans comedy night Saturday

On Saturday at the Brocton American Legion Post 434, 110 W. Main St., Brocton, the Brocton Fire Company will be hosting a night of comedy featuring “5 Outstanding Comedians.” The event begins at 8 p.m., however, for the best seats and to participate in a “ticket auction” as well as a 50/50, come early as doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $15. Call 583-3232. Tickets may be available at the door for $20. This is adult comedy and attendees must be 18-plus years of age to enter.
