Pomfret offices closed Friday

The Pomfret Town Hall and Court will be closed on Friday.

Bill Kuwik to appear on Fresh Perspectives

Gail Erb, host of Fresh Perspectives, will have guest Bill Kuwik on the program. Kuwik will discuss gardening tools.

The show will air Saturday through April 21 at 3 and 9 p.m. each day.

Dunkirk elementary registration

The Dunkirk City School District will continue to conduct kindergarten registrations for the 2017-18 school year at the Boorady Building, 90 E. Fourth St.

Children who are five years of age by Dec. 1, 2017 can register for kindergarten. Students may also be registered for half-day pre-kindergarten and must be four years of age by Dec. 1, 2017.

Parents are strongly encouraged to register their children as soon as possible to ensure a positive start to the new school year.

Parents and guardians are reminded that all registrations are by appointment. Registration appointments should be made now by calling Mrs. Vazquez at 366-9300, ext. 2710.

Kids Easter

activities Saturday

The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church on Main Street in Cherry Creek will sponsor kids Easter activities on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the church fellowship hall. There will be crafts, coloring contest, decorating cookies and an Easter egg hunt for children up to 12 years old.

CBC group to meet

The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet at the Cassadaga Library, 18 Maple Ave., today at 7 p.m. The new CBC website will be discussed, as well as upcoming projects.

New members are always welcome.

Portland ZBA

meeting April 24

The Town of Portland Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on an area variance on April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall, 87 W. Main St. Brocton.
