Dunkirk elementary schools to hold registration

The Dunkirk City School District will continue to conduct kindergarten registrations for the 2017-18 school year at the Boorady Building, 90 E. Fourth St.

Children who will be five years of age by Dec. 1, 2017 can register for kindergarten. Students may also be registered for half-day pre-kindergarten and must be four years of age by Dec. 1, 2017. Parents are strongly encouraged to register their children as soon as possible to ensure a positive start to the new school year.

Parents and guardians are reminded that all registrations are by appointment. Registration appointments should be made now by calling Mrs. Vazquez at 366-9300, ext. 2710.

Portland-Pomfret-Dunkirk Sewer District Board of Directors to meet Tuesday

The Portland-Pomfret-Dunkirk Sewer District Board of Directors have a scheduled meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Dunkirk Town Hall, Willow Road.

Portland Planning Board meeting Tuesday

The Portland Planning Board will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the town hall at 87 W. Main St. in Portland. The public is welcome to attend.

Brocton/Portland Democratic Committee spaghetti dinner planned for Wednesday

The Brocton/Portland Democratic Committee will be holding a spaghetti dinner with homemade meatballs at the Brocton American Legion, Route 20, on Wednesday, April 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12. At the door, tickets are $8 for adults and $4.25 for children under 12. Everyone is welcome to attend. Contact Dan Schrantz at 792-4661 for tickets or information.

Persia Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting tonight

The Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall, 8 W. Main St. in Gowanda.
