Congressman’s staff to hold office hours in Fredonia

Congressman Tom Reed’s staff will hold remote office hours in Fredonia this Friday.

A staff member will be in the Trustees’ Room of the Village Hall, located at 9 Church St. in Fredonia, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. A staff member will be available to answer questions, gather feedback and provide assistance with Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other issues related to federal agencies.

Forestville Class of 2018 chicken barbecue set for today

The Forestville Central School Class of 2018 will hold a budget vote day chicken barbecue today from 2:30 to 5 p.m. or sold out. The event will take place in the Forestville High School back parking lot and includes eat-in or take-out dining options. The cost is $9 pre-sale at the High School office or $10 at the door. The menu includes 1/2 a barbecued chicken, salt potatoes, pasta salad and roll. Eat-in meals include beverages.

Fredonia-Pomfret GOP to meet Thursday

The Fredonia Pomfret Republican Committee meeting will be held Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at Barker Library Community Room. All registered Republicans are invited to attend. Any questions call 310-0173 or 410-1558.

Lakeshore Humane Society in need of

supplies

The Lakeshore Humane Society, at 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk, is in sore need of large-dog harnesses and sturdy leashes, due to some of the residents being mischievous and eating theirs. Donations may be dropped off Saturday during the Adoption Day and Open House, held from noon to 4 p.m., where community members can be thanked with licks, hugs, meows, etc. (from the animals, not the volunteers).

Town of Sheridan to hold public hearing Thursday

The town of Sheridan will hold a public hearing May 18 at 7:15 p.m. in the Community Center regarding Local Law No. 1 of 2017. This law concerns regulating the installation and placement of solar equipment and systems in the town. Residents are welcome to attend. The regular town board meeting will follow the hearing.

Arkwright Summit Cemetery Association set for Wednesday

Arkwright Summit Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the James Prince residence, 2073 Route 83, Forestville. All interested are welcome. For details, call 965-2717.
