City rec office

is moving

Beginning Tuesday, the Dunkirk Recreation Department will be relocated to the Dunkirk Senior Center at 45 Cliffstar Court. Sign-ups for the city-sponsored Summer Better Than Others day camp at Camp Gross in Cassadaga will be held there as well.

Portland Planning Board to meet Tuesday

The town of Portland Planning Board will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at 87 W. Main St., Brocton. The public is welcome to attend.

Access Channel 5 Programming runs to June 30

Chautauqua lectures airing this week are Randy Schekman, “Genome Editing: How It Works and What It Can Do” at 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. and Robert M. Geraci, “The Enhancement Game: Transcendent Bodies in Digital Worlds” at 12:45 and 6:45 p.m.

Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will feature Joseph Gerace, Chautauqua County Sheriff as his guest. The program airs live county-wide on various access channels at 2 and 8 p.m. on Access Channel 5.

Fresh Perspectives, hosted by Gail Erb, will have Anne Moelk from Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue as her guest. The show is at 3 and 9 p.m.

Chautauqua Books will feature an interview with Steve Goreham. Two of Goreham’s books will be discussed: The Mad, Mad, Mad World of Climatism, and Outside the Green Box: Rethinking Sustainable Development, and will air at 4 and 10 p.m.

All programming runs through Friday, June 30.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s website http://accesschautauquacountytv.org.

Town Board Workshop/Special Meeting

The Town Board will hold a workshop and special meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at 4737 Willow Road.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the LWRP boundary lines and conduct any other lawful business to come before the Town Board.
