Fundraiser for Merle Millin planned for Monday

A fundraiser to help with funeral/medical expenses for 15-year-old accident victim Merle Millin will take place Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Brocton Fire Hall, 80 Lake St.

The event will include a car wash, bake sale and raffles. Donations of baskets, baked goods, etc. are being sought. Contact Elaine Caldwell at 672-7661.

Anyone who needs counseling services due to this tragic incident may contact Chautauqua County Mental Health at 363-3550.

Coffee with Mayor Landis Wednesday

Fredonia Mayor Athanasia Landis invites members of the public to her Village Hall office on the first Wednesday of every month between 9 and 10 a.m. to discuss any and all issues and concerns. Coffee and/or tea will be provided.

Comptroller to visit city

A representative from the New York State Comptroller’s Office will visit Dunkirk on July 28 in order to help residents of the 14048 zip code reclaim $1.7 million in owed funds. The representative will be helping residents see if they or a family member are owed money by the state from 10 to 2 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room on the second floor of city hall.

Sunset Bay Firemen’s Auxiliary chicken barbecue

The Sunset Bay Firemen’s Auxiliary will hold a chicken barbecue dinner on July 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. (or sold out) at the Sunset Bay Fire Hall. Meals are $10 each at the door. Proceeds go toward helping the Sunset Bay Fire Department continue to provide lifesaving services in the community.
