Brocton Board

meets tonight

There will be a special meeting of the Brocton Board of Education tonight at 7 p.m. in the high school board room. The purpose is for executive session to discuss hiring personnel.

Pomfret Town Hall to be closed

Pomfret Town Hall will be closed Friday.

Fredonia Village Court closed

The Fredonia Village Court will be closed today until Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Republican Party Caucus to gather Wednesday

Brocton/Portland Republican Party will hold its Party Caucus for the public office of two village of Brocton Trustee seats on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Portland Town Hall. Any questions call Chairman Gary Miller at 672-9335.

Persia to hold

budget workshops

The Persia Town Board will hold a budget workshop on Friday at 2 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. The workshops will be held at the town hall, 8 W. Main St., Gowanda.

County Parks Commission

meets today

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting today, at 4 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Airport. The public is invited to attend.

Ripley Library adult challenge set

Take the Adult Reading Challenge at the Ripley Public Library. This will be going on during the entire month of September. Take the challenges, complete the projects and earn tickets to use at a Chinese Auction held at the end of the program. This is open to all adults. The kids had their fun this past summer, now when they return to school, it is time for the adults to have their fun. You fun starts here at the Ripley Public Library.

South Dayton Farmers’ Market slated for Saturday

On Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be the Farmers’ Market on the South Dayton Village Square. Fresh organically grown vegetables, homemade pies, cookies, pastries, variety of breads, brown eggs, and soap. Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and WIC VF checks accepted.
