Applebee’s hosting Camp Gross fundraiser today

Camp Gross Board of Directors will be hosting the annual Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast at the Vineyard Drive location on Saturday from 8-10 a.m. This event helps us pay the maintenance costs and the upkeep on the cabins and the lodge. Please come and support Camp Gross in this worthwhile project. Many of the boys and girls from the City of Dunkirk depend on the facility for summertime fun.

Republican Party Caucus to gather today

Brocton/Portland Republican Party will hold its Party Caucus for the public office of two Village of Brocton Trustee Seats today at 9 a.m. at the Portland Town Hall. Any questions call Chairman Gary Miller at 672-9335.

Church to give away free food, school supplies

On Sunday, Aug. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Sinclairville, Park Church will hold its annual I Am Free event. Children who live in the Cassadaga Valley community will be given free school supplies, clothing vouchers and free haircuts. For those that don’t have children, there will be plenty to do as well. There will be free food, games for adults and children alike, classic cars and a dunk tank!

For those interested, there will be an outdoor church service starting at 10:30 a.m.

Both events take place in Minckler Commons.

Ripley Library adult challenge set

Take the Adult Reading Challenge at the Ripley Public Library. This will be going on during the entire month of September. Take the challenges, complete the projects and earn tickets to use at a Chinese Auction held at the end of the program. This is open to all adults. The kids had their fun this past summer, now when they return to school, it is time for the adults to have their fun. You fun starts here at the Ripley Public Library.

Revitalize Dunkirk reminds the community of the monthly bring your own chair event scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 27 at Pangolin Park on the waterfront. Family games and sunset watch for all. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend

The village of Fredonia trolley will operate today from 1-3 p.m. for the Fredonia Farm Festival.
