Murder Mystery

at Ripley

Mark Sept. 16 on your calendar and be sure to attend the Murder Mystery hosted by the Ripley Public Library Friends of the Library group.

This Murder Mystery will be held at Noble Winery at 6 p.m. and the cost is $15 per person. You will receive entrance to the show, a wide variety of appetizers and a glass of Noble wine. You also have the chance to be the sleuth who solves the mystery of “Who Done It” when you attend “MURDER ON THE PETULANT EXPRESS.”

Festival of Grapes

cancels two luncheon ceremonies

SILVER CREEK — The Festival of Grapes has officially canceled the pentathlon luncheon as well as the pageant luncheon. The festival was originally planning on honoring past pentathlon and pageant winners with a ceremonial luncheon, but due to lack of response, both luncheons have been canceled.

AARP Driver Safety Classes have been scheduled

Shirley Erbsmehl, instructor, has scheduled the following AARP Driver Safety Classes:

Monday, Sept. 18 and Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Monday, Oct. 16 and Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Monday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Attendance is required both days. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members, payable only by check or money order made out to AARP. Anyone 18 and older with a valid NYS license may enroll. Attendance both days will result in a discount on auto insurance or point reduction. The AARP certificate is valid for three years. To register, call Shirley at 679-4530. Seating is limited so call promptly to reserve a place.

Applebees hosting Camp Gross fundraiser Saturday

Camp Gross Board of Directors will be hosting the annual Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast at the Vineyard Drive location on Saturday from 8-10 a.m. This event helps us pay the maintenance costs and the upkeep on the cabins and the lodge. Please come and support Camp Gross in this worthwhile project. Many of the boys and girls from the City of Dunkirk depend on the facility for summertime fun.

Dunkirk Picnic at the Point set at Point Gratiot for Sept. 10

The Dunkirk Picnic at the Point, will be held at Point Gratiot on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 to 7 p.m. Free hamburgers and hot dogs will be available until gone. The event includes basket raffle fun, 50/50 and music by “No Limit” from 1 to 4 p.m. and “La Krema” from 4 to 7 p.m.
