Forestville fire board to meet

FORESTVILLE — There will be a special meeting of the Forestville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners today at 7:30 p.m. in the Forestville Fire Station at 18 Chestnut St.

Christian Rock Band ‘Reign’ plans free concert

Sept. 15

The Christian Rock Band “Reign” will host a free concert at the Fredonia High School, 425 E. Main St., Fredonia on Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The theme is “Who Holds the Reins in Your Life?” The purpose is trying to reach the youth of today with the message of the Gospel through music and word.

Priest Appreciation Dinner set for Sunday

The 19th Annual Priest Appreciation Dinner will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Holy Trinity Church, Msgr. Bernardo Hall, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. This annual event honors priests, deacons, religious sisters and seminarians for their service to the Church and the community.

Rotary blood screening is Sept. 23

Participation in the 33rd annual Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Blood Screening & Community Health Fair is good for your health and our community.

Brought to you by Brooks Memorial Hospital, TLC Health Network, Kaleida Health and Tim Hortons, this year’s Rotary fundraising event will be Saturday, Sept. 23 from 6:15 to 10 a.m. at Fredonia High School.

For only $45, your blood screening includes 21 clinical tests including a colorectal take-home test kit. Men may wish to add an optional prostate screening for just $25, and new this year is an optional diabetes screen for just $20.
