Sonia Perry Pearl benefit slated for Saturday

A benefit for Sonia Perry Pearl is being held this Saturday from 2-7 p.m. at the Dunkirk Conference Grounds. Tickets for the lasagna dinner are $10 at the door. Live music provided along with beer, wine and hot dogs. A large gift basket will be raffled off.

Willowbrook Park Cemetery meeting rescheduled

The annual meeting of Willowbrook Park Cemetery has been changed from today to Tuesday, Oct. 17. The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. in the cemetery chapel located on the grounds of Willowbrook Park Cemetery on Central in Dunkirk.

Rotary blood screening is Saturday

Participation in the 33rd annual Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Blood Screening & Community Health Fair is good for your health and our community.

Brought to you by Brooks Memorial Hospital, TLC Health Network, Kaleida Health and Tim Hortons, this year’s Rotary fundraising event will be this Saturday from 6:15-10 a.m. at Fredonia High School.

For only $45, your blood screening includes 21 clinical tests including a colorectal take-home test kit. Men may wish to add an optional prostate screening for just $25, and new this year is an optional diabetes screen for just $20.

Warner Place open house set for Thursday

Warner Place Medical-Model Adult Day Health Care Program, located at 155 Aldren Ave., Jamestown, will be having an open house this Thursday from 1-4 p.m. The event and tour will highlight all of the skilled nursing services offered by Warner Place during the day allowing registrants the freedom to remain home with their families in the evening. Light refreshments will be provided. The open house is free and open to the public.

County Executive debate is Thursday

The public is invited to submit questions for the upcoming debate for County Executive between Mike Ferguson and George Borrello on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at Spire Theater (317 E. Third St., Jamestown.)

Sponsored by the Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots, this debate will be unique in that each candidate will be given the set of questions ahead of time for the debate.

Harbor Commission to meet Wednesday

The Harbor Commission will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room at city hall.
