Villenova Burial Association Upcoming Meeting Oct. 3

The Villenova Burial Associations’ Annual/Fall Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the Villenova Town Hall, 1094 Butcher Road, South Dayton. The association trustees and sexton oversee the operation of Villenova Cemetery. Partial agenda to include election of officers, discussion of finances, lot holds and service charges. Trustees, sexton and lot owners are asked to attend.

Fredonia to pick up limbs, yard waste

The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste Monday, Oct. 2 through Thursday, Oct. 5. Collection will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until every village street within the scheduled section has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. of the scheduled morning. In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed.

ALL YARD WASTE MUST BE BAGGED AND ALL LIMBS AND BRUSH MUST BE TIED WITH TWINE. Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than four feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material.

Dunkirk Democratic headquarters to hold grand opening

The grand opening of the Dunkirk Democratic Election 2017 Headquarters at 423 Central Ave., Dunkirk, will be held Saturday at 9 a.m.

Spaghetti Dinner to benefit hurricane victims is Saturday

An “All You Can Eat” Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for hurricane victims will be held Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Salvation Army at 83 S. Main St., Jamestown. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 5 years. Presale tickets will be available at a savings of $1 each. This event is hosted by the United Senior Council of Chautauqua County and the Salvation Army. For tickets, donations and other information, contact Connie at 763-0544.

Blessing of the Animals set for Saturday

Blessing of the Animals to be held in Moore Park at Westfield. Feel free to bring your beloved pets and animals for a special Blessing from the Rev. Virginia Carr of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Last Saturday of Sept. at 11 a.m.

Family Open Swim sessions cancelled at Dunkirk High School pool

Until further notice, staff will not be holding Family Open Swim on Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkirk High School pool.
