Coffee with Mayor Landis Wednesday
Fredonia Mayor Athanasia Landis invites members of the public to her Village Hall office on the first Wednesday of every month between 9 and 10 a.m. to discuss any and all issues and concerns. Coffee and/or tea will be provided.
Fredonia to collect limbs, yard waste
The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste this Monday through Thursday Oct. 5. Collection will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until every village street within the scheduled section has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. of the scheduled morning. In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed.
ALL YARD WASTE MUST BE BAGGED AND ALL LIMBS AND BRUSH MUST BE TIED WITH TWINE. Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than four feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material.
Villenova Burial Association Upcoming Meeting Oct. 3
The Villenova Burial Associations’ Annual/Fall Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the Villenova Town Hall, 1094 Butcher Road, South Dayton. The association trustees and sexton oversee the operation of Villenova Cemetery. Partial agenda to include election of officers, discussion of finances, lot holds and service charges. Trustees, sexton and lot owners are asked to attend.
Family Open Swim sessions cancelled at Dunkirk High School pool
Until further notice, staff will not be holding Family Open Swim on Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkirk High School pool.
Town of Pomfret announcement
Town of Pomfret water and sewer bills have been sent out. These bills reflect the new water and sewer rates adopted by the Town Board on July 12, 2017. Please view the Town’s website www.townofpomfretny.org for details. These rates reflect increases due to the contractual rate determined and levied by the village of Fredonia.
Fredonia Central School Board of Education plans welcoming
reception for new Superintendent
The Fredonia Central School Board of Education invites the public to join in giving a warm welcome to
Mr. Jeffrey Sortisio, the new Superintendent, and to thank the stakeholder groups for their valuable assistance during the hiring process.
The welcoming event will take place Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Fredonia High School Library.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Narcotics Anonymous Group meets in Fredonia
The Narcotics Anonymous Group “Freedom in Fredonia” meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave. This is a closed group, for addicts only.
