Cassadaga Cub, Boy Scouts accepting donations today

“Make a Difference Day” will be observed in the Cassadaga Valley area on Saturday. Boys from Troop 219 and Pack 219 will be collecting nonperishable items and cash donations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ames Common, Cassadaga ShurFine and the Sinclairville Library. Items donated through the community’s generosity will be taken to the Cassadaga Food Pantry and the Sinclairville Food Pantry.

Fredonia to mill streets starting Monday

The Village of Fredonia will be milling and paving the following streets starting Monday:

¯ Cushing Street between Prospect Avenue and Main Street;

¯ Temple Street between Main Street and Central Avenue;

¯ Lambert Street between Temple and Day streets.

There will be no on-street parking. There will be lane closures and possible road closings as well.

Hydrant flushing in Cassadaga Monday

Cassadaga will be flushing hydrants on Monday, Oct. 9, weather permitting. Residents may experience dirty water at times.

Maker registration still open for Fredonia Mini Maker Faire on Oct. 21

Featured Makers for the 2nd Annual Fredonia Mini Maker Faire taking place Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of The State University of New York at Fredonia, are still being sought.

The free, family-friendly event is a circus of creativity showcasing makers of all ages and abilities. There will be make-and-take activities, demonstrations, speakers, several Buffalo-area food trucks onsite and more.

Makers who register at https://fredonia.makerfaire.com/call-for-makers/ by Tuesday, Oct. 10 and get approved will receive a free ticket to see Mario the Maker Magician’s special performance sponsored by Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House. Rabies immunization clinics set for October

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health has announced the following free rabies vaccination clinics in Chautauqua County:

¯ Gerry town garage, from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 14. Veterinarian is Dr. Katie Ball. Sponsored by the Town of Gerry.

¯ Pomfret town highway garage, 9639 Chautauqua Road, Fredonia, from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 21. Ball is veterinarian. Sponsored by the Town of Pomfret.
