Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Party

to host Meet

& Greet today

The Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Party will host a Meet and Greet for its Democratic candidates at the Fredonia Grange No. 1 on Main Street, Fredonia, today from 5-7p.m.

The purpose of the Meet and Greet is to give voters the chance to meet and speak with the Democratic candidates. On hand, there will be candidates for county, town and village elections as well as 2018 Congressional candidates.

It is important to know your candidates prior to an election. This is a great opportunity to get to know who best represents the goals for the region.

This get together is also a tailgate party for the Badger/Marauder football game. Treats and drinks will be supplied for your enjoyment.

Meet the Republicans planned for Oct. 21

A Meet the Republican candidates session/fund-raiser for Fredonia Village Board, Pomfret Town Board, county legislators and county executive is planned for Oct. 21 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Fredonia Grange No. 1, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. The Fredonia Village Board Republican candidates are Doug Essek, Roger Britz Jr. and Dale Ricker. The Pomfret Town Board Republican candidate is Mike Reynolds. The Chautauqua County Republican Legislative candidates are Bob Scudder and Terry Niebel. The Chautauqua County Executive Republican candidate is George Borrello.

A continental breakfast will be provided.

Hurricane Maria relief now collecting clothes

The Hurricane Maria relief collection for victims in Puerto Rico is now accepting gently used and new clothing after reports of a need for it. Please keep in mind that it is a tropical climate. Donations of water, canned food toiletries and baby items are also being accepted at the city of Dunkirk’s drop off at the warehouse on the corner of Washington Avenue and Lake Shore Drive from 3 to 7 p.m. every day. Monetary donations are also being accepting in the clerk’s office or the development department in the Stearns building. Donations will be accepted until at least today. Any help is appreciated. Volunteers may still sign up in the clerk’s office.

Narcotics Anonymous weekly meeting held Fridays

The Narcotics Anonymous weekly meeting, “A Message of Hope” group, is held on Fridays at 7 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 327 Washington Ave., between Third and Fourth streets, Dunkirk. No drugs are allowed at this open meeting for anyone who wants to not use drugs.
