Vacant Property Taskforce meeting tonight
The Vacant Property Taskforce will meet tonight at the SUNY Fredonia Incubator at 6 p.m. to go over data collected by volunteers for the city of Dunkirk’s Zombie Property Survey. Incorporation of the Floramo plan will also be discussed.
United Way ‘baby shower’ for Puerto Rico extended
The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County’s “baby shower” for Puerto Rico has been extended for the next two weeks thanks to a partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Coalition. Donations of baby formula (powder only), non-breakable baby bottles, diapers (all sizes), onesies, footie pajamas (sleepers), socks, lotions, diaper rash cream, baby wipes and blankets can be dropped off at the United Way office on Central Avenue, The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County on Lake Shore Drive or Community Bank on Vineyard Drive, all in Dunkirk, during regular business hours.
Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. offers Alzheimer’s services
Chautauqua Opportunities Alzheimer’s Services will hold a presentation on Oct. 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. The presentations will cover the basics of Dementia. Learn the different types of dementia and learn what Alzheimer’s signs and symptoms are and how early detection matters. The event is free and open to the public. It is being sponsored in part by the New York State Department of Health.

Forestville Central School to hold
meetings Thursday
The Forestville Central School District Board of Education will hold the following committee meetings on Thursday, Oct. 19 in the Superintendent’s office: Policy 3:30 p.m.; Legislative 4:30 p.m.; Staff Recognition 5:30 p.m.
