The Fredonia Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. in the High School Library. The public is welcome to attend.

The village of Silver Creek Municipal Office will be closed today in observance of Thanksgiving.

Dash for Cash

The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County’s holiday Dash for Cash is underway. A limited number of tickets will be sold with the top prize being $2,500. In addition, there will be two $500 winners, two $250 winners and one bonus prize to someone in attendance at the drawing at the Clarion Hotel at 6 p.m. Dec. 14.

Hanover offices closed today

All departments in the town of Hanover will be closed today to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.

Dunkirk trash days moved for holiday

Rubbish in the city of Dunkirk’s Thursday collection zone (District A) will be picked up today in observance of Thanksgiving. Rubbish in the Friday collection zone (District D) will be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Dunkirk to host Small Business Saturday

Dunkirk will hold a 2017 Small Business Saturday Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 5 p.m. at the former JCPenney space in the D&F Plaza. The city is calling all to come and shop small.

Come early for complimentary coffee, doughnuts and hot chocolate. Shop gifts from 10 local vendor pop-ups and learn about local businesses’ special promotions. Enter a free raffle to win a local business gift basket and enjoy kids activities including a holiday coloring contest and a surprise visit from Santa. Then take a shopping break and enjoy some eats from the Siri Thai Cuisine food truck.

At 5 p.m., head over to city hall for the annual tree lighting ceremony and a visit from Santa.
