Garden Club wreath sale underway

The Chadwick Bay Garden Club met recently to finalize plans for their annual fresh wreath sale.

Over the years these 24-inch nobel fir wreaths have decorated the doors of many local homes and businesses. The club also will be donating wreaths for Dunkirk City Hall and Fredonia Village Hall.

The proceeds have been used to purchase trees, evergreens and flowers for the Village of Fredonia and now the Dunkirk Lighthouse.

Wreaths are available through any club member or by calling 679-1972.

Ripley Library Players ready for new show

The Ripley Library Players are at it again and ready for another production of the “Murder on the Petulant Express.” The show is Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. at Quincy Cellars, located 10606 Route 20 near Stateline in Ripley. Tickets are available at Ripley Public Library and are $15 per ticket.Come enjoy this delightful production, nibble on some appetizers and receive one glass of wine or specialty beer. Additional beverages are available for purchase.

Town of Evans meeting set for Wednesday

The Evans Town Board will hold a special town board meeting at the Evans Town Hall, 8787 Erie Road, Angola, on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7:10 p.m., for the purpose of holding a public hearing for the Angola Fire Protection District.

Fredonia School Board to meet

The Fredonia Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. in the High School Library. The public is welcome to attend.

IDA meeting set

for Nov. 28

A board meeting of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors will be held at Classic Brass, 2051 Stoneman Circle, Lakewood, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m., in the Board Room – Second floor.

Dash for Cash tickets available

The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County’s holiday Dash for Cash is under way. A limited number of tickets will be sold with the top prize being $2,500. In addition, there will be two $500 winners, two $250 winners and one bonus prize to someone in attendance at the drawing at the Clarion Hotel at 6 p.m. Dec. 14.

Community Foundation accepting applications for Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Legacy funds

BUFFALO — The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is accepting applications for the 2018 Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds competitive grant process. Grants will support the following areas of interest: caregivers, community assets, design and access and youth sports.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located within the eight counties of Western New York, including: Allegany; Cattaraugus; Chautauqua; Erie; Genesee; Niagara; Orleans; and Wyoming counties. For caregivers, government agencies also may apply. For community assets, only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that reside in Erie County may apply.

Applications are due Jan. 8, 2018.
