Town of Stockton Planning Board plans Town-wide Community Christmas Lighting Contest

The Town of Stockton Planning Board Town-wide Community Christmas Lighting Contest, including the village of Cassadaga, will take place this month, with contest judging at 6 p.m., on or after Dec. 19.

Applications are available at the Stockton, Cassadaga Libraries, or the Town Clerk’s Office. Return applications by 5 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 15, to the Stockton Town Hall or the Stockton, Cassadaga Library building or book drop off.

Forestville Board of

Ed. to meet Dec. 21

Forestville Central School District Board of Education will hold the following committee meetings on Thursday, December 21 in the Superintendent’s Office: Staff recognition — 3:30 p.m.; Legislative — 4:30 p.m.; Policy — 5:30 p.m.; Shared services — 6:30 p.m.

Revitalize Dunkirk will not hold December meeting

There will be NO December meeting of Revitalize Dunkirk. The January meeting will occur as scheduled on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m., located at the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Revitalize Dunkirk is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization whose mission is to advocate for a reinvigorated community through civic involvement. Membership applications and T-shirts will be available. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Chautauqua Workforce Development Board releases plan

The Chautauqua Workforce Development Board has released its 2017 Regional Workforce Plan for review and for public comment.

The Regional Plan can be viewed on the Chautauqua Works website at www.chautauquaworks.com. A copy of the Regional plan can also be obtained by contacting Kathleen Geise, executive director at 661-9324.

The general public has 30 days from the date of publication in which to comment on the proposed Regional Workforce Plan. Comments may be submitted in writing to kgeise@chautauquaworks.com by Jan. 10 with the subject line: 2017 Western Region (Chautauqua) Regional Plan Comment.

Low water pressure possible in Fourth Ward

Residents in the 4th Ward in the city of Dunkirk may experience low water pressure this morning, Dec. 14, beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting until approximately noon due to scheduled maintenance at the Benton Street Booster Pump Station.

Santa Claus coming to Forestville Saturday

The Forestville Fall Festival Committee and The Forestville Fire Department are hosting an evening with that ”jolly old man,” Santa Claus. He will arrive on a horse-drawn wagon at the Forestville Fire Hall this Saturday, Dec. 16.

Santa will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Doug & Linda Fairbanks will give rides on their horse-drawn wagon during this time. There will be hot cocoa, cookies and a treat from Santa.

Children will be able to make their own Christmas ornaments while waiting to sit on Santa’s lap.
