Fredonia to hold

special meeting

A special meeting will be held this Friday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m., to discuss any business that may come before the board.

Study Abroad Information Sessions scheduled at Fredonia

The Office of International Education at the State University of New York at Fredonia will be holding information sessions during late January and early February for its summer and semester study abroad programs.

Students or community members interested in the programs are encouraged to attend: Magical Iceland – today at 5 p.m., in the Major Alice Conference Room in the Science Center (Room 321); Arts of Italy – Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., in Rockefeller Arts Center Room P75 (Sculpture Classroom); and Monsters of Paris – Thursday, Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m., in Fenton Hall Room 2157.

Silver Creek Village Board meets Friday

The Silver Creek Village Board will hold a special meeting Friday, Jan. 26 at 8:30 a.m. in village hall to discuss water and sewer rates.

Portland Town Board sets special meeting

The Portland Supervisor has call a special meeting on Monday, Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. at the town hall to discuss wind towers and the Highway Departments with the village of Brocton.

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting today at 4 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Airport. The public is invited to attend.

Pomfret looking to fill ZBA vacancy

A vacancy on the town of Pomfret’s Zoning Board of Appeals has been created due to a recent resignation. In an attempt to fill the vacancy, the town board is asking for any resident of the town, including the village of Fredonia, who’s interested in serving on the zoning board to please send a letter of interest to Allison Dispense, town of Pomfret, town clerk, at 9 Day Street, Fredonia.

Villenova Town Clerk’s Office to be closed Saturday

The Villenova Town Clerk’s Office will be closed Saturday, Jan. 27. The office will be open on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.
