Town of Dunkirk moving forward with water districts

Supervisor Richard Purol has announced that funding has been secured for the Roberts Road Water Service area No. 1.

The proposed water district will address residents’ concerns regarding poor water quality in the existing private wells and provide improved fire protection to the area. Test borings for waterline placement will begin shortly. Once construction plans are completed and easements signed, the waterline project will go out to bid.

Town residents in the Bennett Road Water District will soon see movement on phase 2 of the waterline project. Once construction plans are completed and all easements have been signed, the project will go out to bid.

The North County Water District is progressing as scheduled. Residents on Willow Road who currently do not have municipal water are asked to please stop by the town hall at 4737 Willow Road and pick up a stake with blue paint to be used for marking the curb boxes on their property. A detailed letter with rules and regulations for hookup will be forth coming.
