No meeting in Town of Portland June 26
There will be no Town of Portland board meeting on June 26. Meetings will resume July 24.
Chiavetta’s chicken barbecues scheduled to Benefit CASAC
Mark the calendars for Chautauqua Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council’s two Chiavetta chicken barbecues. The Jamestown event will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Jammers field, 485 Falconer St. The North County chicken barbecue dinner will be held on Monday, July 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the First Ward Falcons Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive E. in Dunkirk. All tickets are $10 and will be available through any CASAC Board or staff member, or by calling 366-4623 or 664-3608.
Gowanda Moose Lodge cruise on in cars and bikes event set for Thursday
Gowanda Moose Lodge will hold its next in a series of “cruise on in cars and bikes” this Thursday, June 21, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. Food and drink specials will be available. The event benefits the “Raise the Roof” project.
Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 plans car and bike show for June 29
Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 presents its First Annual Car and Bike Show, on Friday, June 29, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Post 62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. There will be a DJ, raffles, bake sale, and food. Every car and bike driver will be entered into a cash drawing at 9 p.m. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. All proceeds will benefit Chautauqua County veterans.
SOAR Chapter 4-1 meeting and lunch planned for June 26
SOAR Chapter 4-1 will hold a meeting and lunch on June 26 at noon at the United Steelworkers Local Union 2693 Union Hall, 97 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk.
