Revitalize Dunkirk to meet Thursday

The June meeting of Revitalize Dunkirk will be held this Thursday, June 21, at the Fredonia State University Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave, Dunkirk. The scheduled speaker is Michele Starwalt, director of Chautauqua Striders North County, an organization dedicated to the mentoring and guidance of youth through education, advocacy, and athletics.

The guest speaker’s presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. with a Revitalize Dunkirk meeting agenda to follow. Revitalize Dunkirk is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of community members committed to bringing ideas for improved urban living to residents and elected officials of the city of Dunkirk. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 cruise nights set

Cassadaga Legion Post Squadron 1280 is planning a series of Cruise Nights to be held the third Wednesday of the month from May through September from 6 to 9 p.m. The dates are tonight, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19. The events will be held at Cassadaga Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature music, food, 50/50, cool cars and fun! For details, call the Legion at 595-3145.

Town of Chautauqua Historical

Society meeting

Devon Taylor, Town of Chautauqua Historian, will be the speaker at the Thursday, June 21 meeting of the Town of Chautauqua Historical Society in the Sid Compton Room at the old high school at 2 Academy St., Mayville beginning at 7 p.m.

Taylor will disclose little known facts about Mayville and the town of Chautauqua. The public is invited.

Son’s of the American Legion to host Steak, shrimp bingo

The Son’s of the American Legion, Squad 59, will be holding a Steak and Shrimp Bingo fundraiser, this Thursday June 21, from 7- 9 p.m. at Post 59, 156 E Main St., Fredonia. Ten rounds of two steaks and one pound of shrimp bingo plus a separate family dinner raffle will also be held, this includes six steaks, one pound of shrimp and all the fixings. Two additional bonus rounds featuring Alex & Ani bracelets donated by Kirk’s Jewelers and Nancy York will also be held.

SAL Squad 59 Commander Rod Dziduch will call the bingo. All other proceeds from the evening assist with Post 59 veteran functions and Boy’s and Girl’s State sponsorships. Member and guest welcome.

Reed’s staff to hold remote office hours today

Congressman Tom Reed’s staff will hold remote office hours in Dunkirk today from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

The meeting will be in the conference room at the Dunkirk City Hall, 342 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback and provide assistance with Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other issues related to federal agencies.
